Job Description
Occupational Therapist (OT) - Level 2
Overview:
Intermediate-level OT with increased responsibilities and independence in evaluating, documenting, treating, and
educating patients. Provides guidance and leadership to support staff.
Job Tasks:
Evaluation:
o Selects and uses a range of therapeutic assessment tools.
o Completes detailed functional, comprehensive, and individualized assessments.
o Develops and adjusts treatment programs based on patient needs and goals.
o Establishes realistic and measurable goals and plans of care.
o Completes evaluations efficiently and recommends necessary patient equipment.
Documentation:
o Adheres to and maintains accurate and timely documentation according to departmental protocols.
o Ensures compliance with regulatory standards and accuracy in charges.
Treatment:
o Implements and modifies treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
o Reassesses objective findings and adjusts care as needed.
o Delivers professional and patient-focused care, adhering to safety standards.
o Develops and progresses treatment programs effectively.
o Educates patients and families thoroughly on therapy results and home exercises.
o Utilizes a variety of advanced treatment techniques.
Education:
o Actively participates in advanced educational opportunities and mandatory training.
o Engages in mentoring and orientation for fellow associates and students.
Operations:
o Provides leadership and supervision for occupational therapy assistants and other support staff.
o Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and adheres to hospital initiatives.
o Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity standards.
o Attends meetings and maintains a safe, clean environment.
o Follows hospital and Human Resource policies, using resources appropriately.
Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Registry &/or Certifications)
Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school
Master’s or Doctoral Level of Education Preferred
Greater than 1-year applicable experience
Licensed in the state of South Carolina to practice Occupational Therapy
Current American Health Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Additional Job Description
Education:
A degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current South Carolina licensure and NBCOT certification required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Greater than 1 year of applicable experience required.
