Category Schools – OT Job Type Contract An engaging opportunity is available for a skilled candidate specializing in school settings. This position is situated in North Charleston, SC, within an elementary school environment, where the focus will be on supporting the diverse needs of students through therapeutic interventions.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or related field Valid occupational therapy license in South Carolina Previous experience working in school settings, particularly with elementary students Strong understanding of IEPs and the evaluation process Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and other healthcare professionals Compassionate and patient approach to working with children
Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students Implement therapeutic activities to improve students’ motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate occupational therapy goals into the classroom Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions and student outcomes Provide training and support to staff and families on strategies to reinforce therapy goals
