- What you will do in this role: Assumes responsibility and accountability as indicated for the careof those patients being treated by Certified Occupational TherapistAssistants, rehabilitation technicians and occupational therapystudents.
May be assigned to orient staff and students and assumethe duties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence ofthat individual as qualified to do so. Assesses patients’ needs; identifies and initiates appropriateoccupational therapy interventions; works cooperatively with otherpatient team personnel in maintaining standards for professionaloccupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork. Observes and evaluates treatment affect, accomplishment of short-and long-term goals. Recommends change to physician, if needed. Performs an appropriate assessment on each patient and performsreassessments, as per policy. Performs accurate and timely QIscoring. The population is adult and geriatric patients requiringan adult medical rehabilitation program and services.
- Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level offunction of participation in rehabilitation; makes appropriateinterventions to reduce pain; makes appropriate physician contactfor intervention.
Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs andevaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included inteaching, as appropriate. Performs appropriate documentation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state wherethe hospital is located.
- Inpatient rehab experience preferred, but not required.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
