COTA Expert Healthcare Solutions Hayesville, NC 28904 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with occupational therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and pediatric environments. Your expertise in medical terminology, physiology, and occupational health will be essential in assisting patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their daily living skills. Responsibilities Assist occupational therapists in the implementation of treatment plans for patients across diverse settings, including outpatient, inpatient, pediatrics, geriatrics, and skilled nursing facilities. Provide direct patient care by conducting therapeutic activities designed to enhance functional abilities. Monitor patient progress and report findings to the supervising occupational therapist. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and exercises to promote recovery and independence. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy and participate in continuing education opportunities. Qualifications Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to occupational therapy practices. Experience or familiarity with various patient demographics including pediatrics, geriatrics, outpatient, and inpatient settings is preferred. Understanding of physiology and its application in rehabilitation therapy. Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating strong independent judgment. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
