Short Term Occupational Therapy Aide HCSS Healthcare Staffing Solutions McKees Rocks, PA 15108 We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistants to assist with a short-term assignment in a Pennsylvania hospital. Under the direction of a Clinical Manager, assists with assessing, planning, implementing Occupational Therapy to patients. Maintains the operational aspects of the therapy unit in collaboration with the Clinical Manager. Further contributes to the Physical Medicine Department, Hospital, and the American Occupational Therapy Association through support of philosophy, objectives, educational and research efforts. Is responsible for the supervision of subordinate staff, students and volunteers as delegated by department administrative personnel. May be required to travel between clinical sites to assist in provision of care. HealthCare Staffing Solutions (HCSS) is a national company that helps hospitals in crisis situations. We have some short-term assignments (3 to 7 days) coming up in Pennsylvania. In addition to a high hourly rate, we would also be paying for your travel, housing in a 4-5 star hotel, and a daily meal stipend. You would be working in a large acute hospital with several other Allied clinicians also working short term assignments to help take care of patients in need of your skills. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities. Develop individualized treatment plans aimed at improving patients’ functional independence. Implement therapeutic interventions such as activity modification, adaptive techniques, and therapeutic exercises. Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Educate patients and their families about strategies to manage daily activities and prevent future issues. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and healthcare regulations. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records and progress notes. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning. Stay updated with current best practices and advancements in occupational therapy. Qualifications Valid OTA/L or LOTA Valid BLS Strong patient care skills and knowledge of physiology and anatomy Proficient in medical terminology Experience with discharge planning and care plans Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) Familiarity with working with diverse populations, including individuals with disabilities and autism Background in acute care, geriatrics, and early intervention settings
