Job Description
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in Montgomery, AL . This full-time position offers the opportunity to assist Occupational Therapists in delivering high-quality care to patients in need of rehabilitation and functional improvement. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to enhancing patients independence in daily activities.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help patients improve mobility, self-care, and daily living skills. Provide hands-on therapy, including therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment training, and functional activity interventions. Educate patients and their families on techniques to enhance independence in daily tasks. Monitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in electronic medical records (EMR). Ensure compliance with all facility policies, ethical standards, and state regulations.
Qualifications:
Associate s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program . Current Alabama COTA license or eligibility for licensure. CPR certification (preferred). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience in a clinical setting (rehabilitation, geriatrics, or home health experience preferred). Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
