Occupational Therapy Assistant Karina Therapeutic Services Palm Beach, FL Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including inpatient facilities, clinics, and home health environments. This role is essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their quality of life through therapeutic activities and interventions. Duties Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Provide direct patient care, ensuring comfort and safety during therapy sessions. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and home exercises to promote continued recovery. Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and outcomes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs. Support pediatric patients in achieving developmental milestones through engaging activities. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and infection control measures within clinical settings. Qualifications Must be a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in accordance with state regulations. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging relevant to occupational therapy practices. Experience in inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, clinics, or home health care preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and empathy. Ability to assist in developing treatment plans based on individual patient assessments. Familiarity with pediatric therapy practices is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
