Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars Volusia County, FL Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to support patients in achieving their therapeutic goals. This role is essential in providing quality patient care across various settings, including acute care, pediatrics, geriatrics, and home health environments. Duties Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve their physical and cognitive abilities. Implement treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist, ensuring adherence to established protocols. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and strategies for daily living. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and progress notes in compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Uphold safety standards while assisting patients with mobility and daily activities. Requirements Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging. Experience in pediatric settings preferred; familiarity with pediatrics, and home health is a plus. Excellent patient care skills with a focus on empathy and effective communication. Ability to assist patients physically while maintaining their dignity and comfort. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting. Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to evolving patient needs.
