Job Description
Franciscan Health Lafayette East Campus 1701 S Creasy Ln Lafayette, Indiana 47905 The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant is responsible to the Department Director and supervising Occupational Therapist to provide treatment to the patient prescribed by the physician within the guidelines of the Occupational Therapy Practice Act and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. This position implements a plan of care to restore and enhance performance. This position also performs documentation and quality improvement as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Collaborate with patient and other healthcare personnel or outside agencies regarding coordination of care. Perform comprehensive occupational therapy treatment and related follow-up services including discharge planning. Train and educate patients and family members or others and document understanding of treatment plan and goals. Document and submit patient reports and charges within the established timeframe. Exercise clinical judgment following an occupational therapy plan of care. Provide occupational therapy according to standards of care defined by the state practice act and other professional and governing agencies. Provide occupational therapy, including selection and use of adaptive equipment. Report patient progress and collaborate with evaluating therapist to implement the therapy plan of care.
