Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA/L) Monmouth Associated Spine & Rehabilitation 49 Kent Rd, Township of Howell, NJ 07731 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and inpatient rehabilitation. This role is essential in helping patients achieve their therapeutic goals and improve their overall quality of life. Duties Assist occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans and care plans for patients. Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADLs), and mobility training. Support pediatric patients by engaging them in play-based therapy techniques to enhance their development. Document patient progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective communication. Educate patients and their families on treatment goals, techniques, and home exercise programs. Participate in the evaluation process by assisting with medical imaging and gathering relevant patient information. Maintain a clean and safe working environment while adhering to all safety protocols. Experience Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility or outpatient setting is preferred but not required. Knowledge of anatomy and occupational health principles is essential for effective patient care. Familiarity with pediatric therapy techniques is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members. Ability to assist with various tasks related to patient care while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
