Life-Changing Patient Care Occupational Therapists Make It Possible Assistant Head OT / Full-time / Day Shift NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center Under the supervision of the Manager of Occupational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, and Licensed Creative Arts Therapy, performs all OT duties and assists the Head OT in the supervision and administration of the Occupational Therapy
- Acute Care Program in Milstein Building. Additionally, responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients as directed. The Acute Care Program includes all services in Milstein, i.e. Orthopedics, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Cardiology, MICU/SICU/CTICU/CCU, Oncology, BMT, and Medicine. The shift for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.
- 4 p.
m., with weekends/holidays coverage.
Preferred:
Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Certification. AOTA Membership.
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. New York State Occupational Therapy License. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification. Minimum of five years of experience as a practicing Occupational Therapist with one year of experience in acute care. Demonstrates competency in clinical skills consistent with the level of education, training, and experience. Competency to care for patients based upon the age group treated.
