Overview:

Under the general supervision ofalicensed Occupational Therapist and according to standards oftreatment, assists with objective assessments as well ascomprehensive individualized treatment programs for patients of allage ranges, according to departmental policies and procedures.

Performs duties andresponsibilities in a manner consistent with ourmission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

  • Assist with initialassessment on each patient upon receiving direction from O.T.R./L.and according todepartmental policies and procedures.
  • Documentthe course of patient care including progress notes and thecontinuing need for treatment according to departmental policy.
  • Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatmentprocedures according to departmental policies and procedures onstandards of treatment care.
  • Maintain progress notes anddepartmental records on each patientaccording to departmentalpolicies regarding documentation and charges.
  • Participate inpromoting education within the department
  • Demonstrates knowledgeof special needs and behaviors ofspecific age groups to includeneonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.
  • Performmiscellaneous job duties observed as directed by the InpatientPhysicalMedicine Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education:

Must be agraduate of an accredited Occupation Therapist Assistant program.

Licensure:

Current license for Certified Occupational TherapyAssistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.

Experience:

One year experience is preferred but will consider newgraduates.

Certifications:

BLS certified. Required certificationsmust be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
