Optometry Technician Health Services Inc. (HSI) Montgomery, AL 36107 Job Summary-Shift (11:00am-8:00pm) We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometry Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting the optometric practice. This position involves assisting the optometrist with various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth patient experience, and maintaining an organized front desk environment. Responsibilities Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and equipment. Conduct preliminary tests, including measuring vital signs and performing basic vision tests. Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and current medications. Provide education to patients regarding eye health, procedures, and post-examination care. Manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries. Ensure compliance with medical terminology and coding practices for accurate billing. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the examination rooms and waiting areas. Utilize Epic or similar electronic health record systems for documentation and patient management. Qualifications Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmology is preferred. Experience in patient care settings with a focus on providing excellent customer service. Familiarity with medical terminology and coding practices is advantageous. Ability to perform vital sign assessments accurately. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Athena is a plus. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
