The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in optometry, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care. As an Optician/Optometric technician, you will function as a receptionist collecting patient demographics, pre-testing patients, and help closing the visit with optical support. The ideal candidate will ensure a smooth and efficient experience from check-in to check-out. Duties Assist in the preparation of patients for eye examinations, including intake forms and verifying insurance. Provide front desk support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage, as well as the importance of regular eye exams. Collaborate with optometrists to ensure patients optical needs are met. Support pediatric patients with sensitivity and understanding, ensuring a comfortable environment during their visits. Requirements Previous experience in an optometric or healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient care. Proficiency in using various systems for scheduling and record management. A understanding of anatomy related to the eye is beneficial. Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus but not mandatory.
