Full Job Description Description:

Responsible for daily patient care flow. Performs a number of data collection functions as delegated by the physician and/or Clinic Manager to allow for proper professional diagnosis, treatment and care of patient’s condition(s). Essential Functions Acquaint all new patients with office procedures to which they will be exposed Obtain patient history to include chief complaint, history of present illness, medical history (ocular and general), family history (ocular and general), and history of allergies and medications. Performs accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks for new and follow up patients: Vision acuity, lensometry, entrance tests, contact and non-contact tonometry, refraction, slit lamp exam, angle assessment, dilation. Maintains and cleans all equipment being used. Maintains patient confidentiality. Attends required meetings. Availability to travel to Dade and Broward offices when necessary.

Requirements:

Job Specification Typically has the following skills or abilities: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Technician (COT) preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience as an ophthalmic technician or surgical assistant. Strong knowledge of ophthalmic instruments, procedures, and terminology. Familiarity with EMR systems (experience with NextGen is a plus). Excellent organizational skills and diligence. Ability to travel daily. Excellent customer service and communication skills Full work up, scribing and clinical assistant tasks and basic diagnostic testing tasks. #
