Ophthalmic Technician Palm Beach Eye Specialists 15340 South Jog Road, Delray Beach, FL 33446 Growing ophthalmology practice in Delray Beach and Jupiter is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our clinical operations.
THIS ROLE REQUIRES COMMUTING TO BOTH DELRAY BEACH AND JUPITER LOCATION.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The ophthalmic technician is responsible for performing complete patient workups and ensuring accurate chart documentation. Ability to communicate with patients, co-workers, management, and physicians is critical. The technician is to be an active listener and be responsive to patients’ needs and concerns.
List of Duties:
Promptly and professionally assisting the doctor in patient care. Performing technical workups, patient history and special testing. Maintaining and cleaning all equipment being used. Returning phone calls to patients and pharmacies. Instrument set up and assisting in minor surgery.

Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms, and ocular meds.

Has basic knowledge of contact lenses and can train patients on insertion and removal. Utilizes proper eye drop technique and sterility. Displays consistent professionalism with patients and co-workers. Cooperates with supervisory staff and physicians to accomplish the goals of the practice. Demonstrates flexibility in job assignment.

Experience Required :
- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Technician for a minimum of one year.

- High school diploma required. College degree preferred.
