The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support within our optometry practice. You will assist optometrists in various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients. Responsibilities Assist optometrists during patient examinations by preparing the examination room and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready for use. Perform preliminary tests, including measuring vital signs, visual acuity, and ocular health assessments. Collect and record patient medical histories, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear options available in the practice. Manage patient flow and scheduling to optimize appointment times and enhance patient experience. Maintain accurate records of patient visits and treatments in accordance with medical office protocols. Support retail sales by assisting patients in selecting frames and lenses that meet their needs. Stay updated on optical products, medical terminology, and advancements in ophthalmology to provide informed recommendations. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office or optometry setting is preferred. Knowledge of retail math principles to assist with sales transactions effectively. Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care and ophthalmology. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality. Experience in pediatrics is a plus, as you may interact with younger patients. Excellent communication skills with a focus on providing outstanding patient care. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently. A passion for optical services and helping patients achieve their best vision.
