Full Job Description Company Overview:
Georgia Eye Associates started providing care in 1988 with an experienced team of optometrists and ophthalmologists they specialize in laser refractive surgery, including Lasik, as well as no-stitch and laser cataract surgery while also offering additional services such as multifocal lens implants and cornea repair/transplants.
Position Summary:
We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.
Responsibilities:
This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.
Ophthalmic skills include:
Developing training strategy to promote skill and service excellence for ophthalmic technicians. Implementing the full training cycle of our technicians Educating new and existing employees in all aspects of patient workups, such as but not limited to manual refraction in minus cylinder and retinoscopy. Ensuring that all training adheres to the Joint Commission on Allied Heath Personnel in Ophthalmology standards. Using traditional and modern job training methods and techniques (including on-the-job, hands-on), organize and conduct training curriculum for new hire onboarding, existing staff, and the roll-out of new initiatives. Conducting training on the technology used to support workflow and initiatives, EMR and practice management systems. Maintaining and updating a library of training curricula and materials. Building a team of trainers and other support staff to support training initiatives. Record keeping of training, certifications, licenses etc. Conducting training feedback surveys to foster innovation and improve materials.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of ophthalmic technician experience preferred COA preferred Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required Must be flexible with traveling to various locations Ability to pay attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable The ability to recognize inconsistencies
Education/Certifications:
Graduation from an accredited high school
