The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our ophthalmologists by assisting with patient care, performing diagnostic tests, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. This position requires strong communication skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures. Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and refraction. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using electronic health record systems like Epic. Provide patients with information regarding their conditions and treatment options. Manage front desk operations including scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries. Ensure the clinic is well-organized and that equipment is properly maintained. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Handle medical billing and coding tasks as needed. Experience Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical records management and terminology is essential. Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye and vision is advantageous. Experience in sales or customer service can enhance patient interactions. Proficiency in medical billing and coding practices will be considered a plus.
