• Overview:

• We are seeking a dedicated Optometric Technician/Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care and possess knowledge of medical coding, HIPAA regulations, and ophthalmology practices.

• Duties:

• Conduct preliminary patient screenings including vital signs and patient history
• Scheduling patient examinations
• Verifying insurance benefits
• Assist with diagnostic testing such as visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and retinal imaging
• Prepare examination rooms for patient visits
• Perform contact lens insertion and removal training
• Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage
• Utilize electronic health record systems like Epic for documentation
• Maintain inventory of clinical supplies
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations

• Experience:

• Experience in optometry or ophthalmology setting preferred
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the eye
• Familiarity with optical retail sales is a plus
• Proficiency in medical coding and billing systems
