We are seeking a highly talented and experienced ophthalmic scribe to bring their energy and passion to our rapidly growing team. Staff engagement and satisfaction is paramount to the physicians who will do everything possible to help staff succeed in their roles and foster a fun and supportive work environment. This exceptional opportunity is for a candidate with a cooperative work attitude toward coworkers, management, patients, visitors, and physicians. Regularly you will . . . Accurately and thoroughly document ophthalmic exams and procedures as they are being performed by the physician. List all appropriate diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as directed by the physician. Provide patients and/or family members with instructions for self-care and follow-up as directed by the physician. Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays. Effectively communicate physician instructions to patients and documents accordingly Assist the physician with pharmacy calls, patient calls, etc. Ensure all patient lanes are clean and well-stocked at the end of each day. Ensure all equipment is turned off and covered properly at the end of the day. Success in this Position will Require . . . High School Diploma or equivalent Typing Proficiency High attention to detail Familiarity with the basic terminology of ocular anatomy and physiology, common ocular diseases/conditions and ocular pharmacology Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of Medical Terminology Reliability NY Retina specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all aspects of retinal diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and retinal vascular disease. This fast-paced office requires a confident energetic candidate to support the daily functions of our ophthalmic practice. Compensation is competitive and depends on the skill set and experience of the successful candidate. Benefits include health, dental, holiday and paid time off, and a retirement plan. The salary range is $22.00 – $28.00 per hour, depending on your skills and experience.
