Experienced Ophthalmic Scribe Cohen Eye Institute Ridgewood, NY 11385 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Ophthalmic Scribe to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists by accurately transcribing patient information and medical documentation during examinations. This position requires a strong understanding of Ophthalmic terminology as well as proficiency in typing and familiarity with EMR (Nextech specific) Responsibilities Transcribe patient encounters and document medical histories during ophthalmic examinations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Assist in the preparation of examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for use. Collaborate with ophthalmologists to ensure thorough documentation of findings and treatment plans. Manage electronic health record systems efficiently to streamline patient care processes. Ensure confidentiality and security of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Qualifications Previous experience as Ophthalmic Scribe required Strong typing skills with the ability to transcribe quickly and accurately. Knowledge of medical terminology, including specific terms related to ophthalmology. Understanding of anatomy relevant to eye care. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
