• Job Summary
• We are seeking a skilled Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, following prescriptions written by ophthalmologists and optometrists.
• Responsibilities
• Assist customers in selecting eyeglass frames that complement their features and style preferences
• Take facial measurements to ensure correct fit and positioning of eyeglasses
• Educate customers on proper eyeglass and contact lens care
• Adjust and repair eyewear as needed
• Verify that finished lenses are ground to specifications
• Maintain accurate customer records in the optical dispensary system
• Process orders for contact lenses and eyewear
• Keep abreast of new products in the optical field
• Experience
• Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
• Proficiency in optical equipment operation and maintenance
• Familiarity with medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and medical billing procedures
• Strong sales skills to assist customers in selecting the best eyewear for their needs
• Knowledge of vital signs measurement and interpretation
• Ability to handle laboratory tasks related to optical work
