Optical Assistant/Optician Position Available In Broward, Florida

Optical Assistant/Optician East Side Vision Center Pompano Beach, FL 33062 Please note that starting salary depends on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with frame selection and fitting of eyeglasses (sales)
• Perform basic optical laboratory duties, such as frame adjustments
• Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining patient records
• Conduct preliminary tests and measurements, such as visual acuity, autorefraction, blood pressure, imaging and visual field testing
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Educate patients on proper contact lens insertion, removal, and care and maintain contact lens trial inventory
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical area

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an optical assistant or in a related field preferred
• Knowledge of medical billing processes and insurance verification is a plus
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality preferred
• Proficiency in medical terminology is a plus and ability to navigate electronic and paper medical record systems
• Basic knowledge of anatomy and eye structure is helpful but can be learned
• Familiarity with aseptic technique for maintaining sterile environments
• Knowledge of vital signs measurement techniques is a
