Licensed Opticians are responsible for selling & dispensingeyewear and eyewear accessories to patients. They ensure patientsare fitted with the right-size frames that fit their needs andlifestyle and dispense lenses with correct prescription andmeasurements. Licensed Opticians are at the heart of our business.
Their technical and customer service skills ensure patientsatisfaction and repeat business.
Delivers extraordinary experienceto each patient. Provides patients with a complete understanding ofour customized recommendations for products and servicesCustom fitsglasses & precisely places prescription in lensesDevelops ownclientele from providing outstanding service and obtainingreferralsAssists co-workers with difficult or complex areas ofproduct needs & prescriptionsKeeps current on company/industryproducts and procedures, manufacturer rebates, and types of lensesand frames availableTakes and returns patient calls, updatingpatients on the status of their order and resolving order issuesshould they arise. Escalates any issues with the Store Manager, asnecessaryRetrieves patient charts and electronic healthrecordsAssists patients in selecting frames, lens type, and lenstreatments including tints and coatings; depending on specificpatient needs and facial measurementsEducates patients on propereyeglass and contact lens careCollects eye and face measurements toensure proper fitInterprets prescriptions written by optometristand ophthalmologistCreates work orders for lab technicians,specifying information on lenses neededFollows-up on all pendingorders. Verifies all orders are within the time guidelines givenand informs patients of status if delays occur. Notifies patientwhen orders arrive from lab/manufacturerDispenses glasses byinspecting the product, checking for proper fit, adjusting ifnecessary, and asking for feedbackAdjusts eyewear to ensure visualacuity, proper fit, and patient comfort. Using various tools,performs eyewear adjustments and repairsProficient in using toolssuch as pupilometers, PD Sticks, lensometers, pliers, wrenches,frame warmers, etc.
Regularly communicates with technicians and/orstore managers, providing additional patient information, or askingfor an order statusInspects the final product ensuring there are noflaws; Cleans and polishes lenses using cloths and solventsCleansand organizes frame boards, displays, mirrors, work bench, officearea, bathroom, and breakroom, maintaining overall cleanliness andvisual appeal of the storeRestocks retail boards with newmerchandizeUnderstands product issues and analyzes any problems.
Thoroughly and accurately answers patients questions regardinginsurance, warranty, products, materials, services, pricing,upgrades, promotions, etc.
Collaborates with technicians, front deskassociates, Managers, and OptometristSells miscellaneous productssuch as cleaners, contact lens supply, sunglasses, safety glasses,etc.
Requirements:
