Full Time Hi there! We are searching for a new friendly face for our small independent optometry office located in Maitland FL. We are currently in need of someone with a great work ethic, warm personality, savvy computer skills, and great attention to detail. We are a full-service optometry office offering comprehensive eye exams, specialty contact lenses, and treatment and management of ocular diseases. We also have a fun optical dispensary with a great selection of independent eyewear. Attached is a specific job description for review. Dr Schott Essential Functions:
Includes but are not limited to those listed below and may be modified at any time by the Practice’s Chief Executive Officer. Work together as a team to ensure compliance with patient recall Greet patients and make sure they are comfortable Ensure patients are notified 48 hours in advance of upcoming appointments by cross referencing the online confirmations Answer phones and route calls as appropriate Create new patient files Appropriately schedule appointments Answer inquiries about the practice Notify the doctor(s) of requests for medical refills and obtain the doctor’s approval Create and follow up on outgoing record requests Ensure reception area is tidy and clean Validate patient’s insurance information and eligibility, including retrieving prior authorizations as needed Explain benefits and eligibility to patients Collect payment, including patient’s copays and deductibles Assist patients with ordering contact lenses Instruct patient in care and use of glasses or contact lenses Fit and dispense eyeglasses as needed
Education, Experience and Requirements:
Certified Para-Optometric Assistant (CPO) preferred but not required Familiarity with insurance eligibility is a plus Experience not required, but preferred. We are willing to train the right person.
Schedule:
Monday – Thursday 8:30 am to 5 pm, Friday 9-2pm Work remotely: No Compensation & Benefits Hourly starting at $16.00/hour, commensurate with experience Employee discounts PTO Paid Holidays 401K matching
