We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispensing Optician, license or unlicensed, or Optical Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a dependable people person with a great smile and sunny disposition. You will play a crucial role in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. This position requires a blend of clinical knowledge. Vision Insurance, and retail sales expertise and EHR/EMR, ensuring that patients receive the best possible eyewear solutions tailored to their needs. The Optician will work closely with both patients, our team, and our Optometrist, maintaining high standards of service and compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions and personal style preferences. Conduct fittings and adjustments for eyeglasses to ensure proper comfort and functionality. Vision Insurance Maintain accurate medical records, including patient information and prescription details, in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Provide education to patients about lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care. Collaborate with our Optometrist to ensure seamless patient care and follow-up on any necessary treatments or referrals. Manage inventory of eyewear products, including ordering supplies and maintaining laboratory equipment as required. Engage in retail sales activities, utilizing strong sales techniques to meet customer needs while achieving store goals. Experience Previous experience in a clinical or retail setting is preferred, particularly within an Optometry practice. Knowledge in Vision Insurance. Familiarity with medical coding practices related to eye care services is a plus. Strong understanding of optical systems and laboratory processes related to lens manufacturing. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients while providing outstanding customer service. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance in all interactions.
