South Lakeland Drive, Lakeland, FL 33813 Experienced Optical Assistant (South Lakeland) Established, well-respected, professional Optometry practice is looking for an exceptional Optical Assistant to join our eye care team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing all facets of optical responsibilities in a family oriented optometry practice. Educating and assisting patients with lens and frame selections Inventory purchasing and frame board management. Creating and managing optical displays. Cleaning and disinfecting optical area and frames. Managing productivity and profitability in the optical area of the practice. Eyeglass dispensing, adjustments and repairs. Ordering and verifying glasses and contact lenses. Contact lens fittings, training and dispensing. Filing and follow-up of vision insurance claims. Answering phones and scheduling appointments. Checking out patients and collecting payments. Cross training and assisting staff in other areas of the practice. Reconciling Invoices and Matching with Statements for payment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or higher. MINIMUM of two years experience in an optical, optometric or ophthalmic environment is required for this position. Strong working knowledge of optics, ophthalmic materials, lens and frame types Prior experience in optical sales, frame styling and lens options recommendations. Must be fully committed to delivering exceptional patient care and customer service.

CPOT, CPO, ABO, NCLE, COT, LDO

Certifications are a plus but are not required.

Must be computer proficient:

Prior optical, optometric, or medical EHR experience preferred.
