Job Description
Optical Sales West Bay Eye Associates 222 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI 02888 Busy Warwick Eye Care Office looking for a highly motivated and sociable Optical Technician to join our team. Ideal candidate must be friendly, outgoing, and able to engage with patients in a courteous and professional manner. They must have excellent communication skills and strive to provide exceptional customer service. Experience is a huge plus but we are willing to train the right candidate. Full and/or Part Time position available. Wednesday evenings until 7pm and Saturdays until 1pm are a must.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with frame and lens selection tailored to the patient’s unique personal style and needs
- Take and record accurate measurements
- Fit, adjust, repair eyewear
- Troubleshoot prescription / adjustment issues
- Complete necessary paperwork and place eyewear orders
- Instruct new contact lens wearers on lens insertion, removal, and care
- Assist doctors by performing Visual Fields, OCTs, and Fundus Photography
- Assist co-workers as needed
Qualifications:
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Extremely detail-oriented while also juggling a wide range of responsibilities
- Ability to accurately calculate and understand optical math, sales, and insurance benefits
- Ability to work and adapt in a face-paced environment
