The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting patients with their eyewear needs, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring a smooth and efficient optical experience. The Optician will work closely with both patients and healthcare providers to deliver high-quality optical care in a retail or clinical setting. Responsibilities Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescription and lifestyle needs. Perform fittings and adjustments of eyeglasses to ensure proper fit and comfort. Provide education to patients about lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care. Maintain an organized inventory of optical products, including frames and lenses. Utilize retail math skills to process sales transactions accurately. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to understand patient needs and ensure optimal care. Document patient information accurately, including medical terminology related to vision care. Support billing processes by understanding medical billing procedures and insurance claims. Stay informed about the latest trends in optical products and technology. Qualifications Previous experience in an optical setting or related field is preferred. Open to training a potential candidate Strong sales skills with the ability to engage customers effectively. Knowledge of physiology as it relates to vision care is a plus. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to eye care practices. Experience with pediatric patients is advantageous but not required. Proficiency in using optical systems for patient management and inventory control. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
