We have provided over 3.4 millionvision screenings, 655,000 eye exams and 545,000 new, prescriptionglasses in the last decade. We are looking for a Licensed Optician likeyou to join our team with a positive, proactive attitude, andcommitment to our mission. Position Description Vision To Learn iscurrently seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time SouthCarolina Optician. Work hours are Monday thru Friday with 2-3Saturdays per year. The Optician will primarily work during schoolhours. Key position responsibilities include PatientResponsibilities Oversee assigned mobile eye clinic operationConduct eye exam pre-tests, maintain optimal professional standardsTake measurements, fit and adjust frames for patients according towritten optical prescriptions Assist patients with frame selectionsto ensure optimal fit and patient satisfaction Complete and preparedaily reports, and meet deadlines Make follow-up calls to patientcaregivers for feedback Conduct vision screenings using a WelchAllyn Spot Check Vision Screener Dispense glasses to large group ofstudent patients Study and follow Vision To Learn health and safetyprotocols Clinic Responsibilities Maintain optimal driver safetystandards when driving, parking, and using the vehicle Setup theclinic, monitor and replenish inventory, and ensure all patient andadministrative paperwork facilitates an efficient workflow eachworkday Load, secure, inspect and fuel vehicle as necessary Keepvehicle and internal work areas clean and organized at all timesAdditional responsibilities as needed Who You Are Ability todisplay exceptional interpersonal skills when interacting withchildren, site contacts, patient families, and in allinternal/external work interactions Desire to work in a fast-paced,dynamic environment and have technical skills Desire to be crosstrained to expand your skillset Self-starter who is confident toimplement Vision To Learn protocols and embrace a remote settingwith limited supervision Excellent organizational andprioritization skills Strong interpersonal and writtencommunication skills Able to lift up to 20 lbs. and to exertwell-paced mobility for an 8-hour shift including standing,walking, bending and squatting Qualifications South CarolinaOptician License Valid driver’s license required, with a gooddriving record and familiarity with greater Charlotte areageography and with phone GPS; driving transcript must be providedSuccessful track record of working with children and diverse typesof people Must pass company and CMS background checks and drug testExperience using Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, Word; abilityto quickly learn EHR reporting, and project management systems is aplus Spanish skills a plus Successful candidates will have a proventrack record for patient care, with positive, proactive attitudeswho are dedicated to our mission.
