Full Job Description Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess patients’ visual acuity and overall eye health
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions, such as refractive errors, glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration
- Prescribe and fit corrective lenses, including eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Provide pre
- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to manage patients’ overall health and coordinate care
- Educate patients on proper eye care practices and answer any questions or concerns they may have
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records using electronic medical record systems
Skills:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school
- Valid state license to practice optometry
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions
- Proficiency in using Epic or similar electronic medical record systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and colleagues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
