Our client is a nonprofit, federally qualified health center serving over 20,000 Mainers across nine locations. The Lincoln clinic offers optometry services as part of our client’s commitment to providing accessible, inclusive, and affordable healthcare to all, regardless of ability to pay.

Salary:

Base salary of $120,000 to $180,000 (negotiable based on experience)

Benefits:

$2,500 and 40 hours annually for Continuing Medical Education (CME)
Comprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance available after 60 days, with employer covering 80% for employees, 50% for employee + spouse/children, and 40% for family plans.

Job Summary:

The Optometrist provides comprehensive eye care, including vision exams, diagnosis, treatment, and management of eye conditions, while collaborating with an integrated primary care team in a rural, community-focused setting.

Job Responsibilities:

Conduct vision testing and diagnostic eye exams.
Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic medications.
Provide pre- and post-operative eye care.
Identify systemic health conditions (e.g., diabetes) and refer as needed.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and participate in quality initiatives.
Maintain accurate medical records and uphold safety/compliance standards.
Engage in community outreach and professional development.

Qualifications:

Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program.
Licensed or license-eligible in the State of Maine.
Board Certification from the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
