Full Job Description Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Optometrist to provide eye exams, diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care for our patients. The ideal candidate will be patient-focused, with a passion for improving vision and promoting eye health. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Comprehensive Eye Exams:
Provide routine vision screenings and detailed eye exams to patients of all ages to assess visual acuity and detect a range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and more.
Diagnose and Treat Vision Problems:
Diagnose common vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia. Collaborate with
Surgeons:
Work closely with our team of surgeons to provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing cataract or LASIK surgery.
Patient Education:
Educate patients on eye health, preventative care, and the importance of regular eye exams. Provide guidance on eye protection and overall vision maintenance.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using our electronic health record (EHR) system.
Patient Care:
Offer compassionate, attentive, and professional care to all patients, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns they may have about their eye health.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution. Valid New Jersey state license to practice optometry. Experience with advanced diagnostic equipment, such as OCT and visual field testing (preferred, but not required). Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain medical conditions and treatment options clearly to patients. Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with a commitment to excellent customer service.
