The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosing eye conditions, and prescribing corrective lenses. The Optometrist will also play a key role in educating patients about eye health and ensuring a high level of customer service. Duties Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect any abnormalities or diseases. Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy. Prescribe corrective lenses based on patient needs and preferences. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams. Collaborate with ophthalmologists for referrals when necessary. Stay updated on advancements in optometry and ophthalmology to provide the best patient care. Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience for all patients. Assist with sales of optical products, including glasses and contact lenses. Qualifications Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution. Valid state license to practice optometry. Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care and ophthalmology. Experience with pediatrics is a plus but not required. Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding their relevance to eye health. Familiarity with medical coding practices is advantageous. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages. Experience managing medical records in a clinical setting is preferred.
