The Physicians primary job function is to beresponsible for provision of clinic based comprehensive vision carefor patients of FHCN. Works independently and interdependently withother clinic providers. Job performance is evaluated through directobservation, consultation and written documentation.

ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Included but not limited to thefollowing);Access & QualityProvide or arrange for comprehensiveprimary care services in a primary medical care ambulatory clinicsetting, including laboratory and diagnostic workup, and specialtyreferrals.

Works independently using his or her best professionaljudgment while practicing medicine at FHCN within his or her scopeof practice. Works interdependently with other health careproviders and health care staff in a team environment.

Perform minoroutpatient procedures in accordance with FHCNcredentialing/privileging policy.

Provide consultation to otherclinic providers either in person or by telephone.

Consult with andcoordinate patient care with clinic physicians, covering communityprimary care physicians, specialists, pharmacists, nurses, or otherhealth care professionals as appropriate.

Assess patient needs andarrange for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care andmake appropriate referrals for service.

Responsible for accurate,timely, and complete documentation in patient records in accordancewith FHCN policy.

Provide patients and family members withcounseling and education regarding health maintenance, diseaseprevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up asappropriate during each patient visit. Verify and document that thepatient understands diagnosis, treatment and follow uprecommendations.

Renders care to FHCN patients in accordance withquality and standards as are established by FHCN, the standards ofcare prevailing in the community, applicable law, and according tostate and federal grant requirements for non-discriminationregardless of status, race, sex, religion, national origin,handicap, age, or ability to pay.

Provide clinical supervision andappropriate training of ancillary health care staff to assurequality of care for FHCN patients in coordination with ClinicOperations Managers and nursing staff.

Participate in FHCN QualityImprovement activities including Chronic Care Collaborativeprograms, immunization improvement initiatives, pharmacy formularydevelopment and utilization, and any other medical staff committeeactivities relating to peer review, risk management or developmentof clinical policies and procedures.

Participate in audits asrequired by state and national accreditation entities in order forFHCN to meet and maintain all necessary standards andrequirements.

Maintenance of credentials essential for practice, toinclude licensure, certification and CME.Attend all required staffmeetings, provider meetings, and participate in FHCN committees ortask force activities as directed by Medical Director.

Performsafter hours call and care on weekends when scheduled.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESREQUIRED

Ability to function effectively as a team member andfacilitate completion of tasks.

Experience in FQHC (FederallyQualified Health Center) industry preferredRequires strongorganizational skills, problem solving and analytical skills.

Mustbe computer literate in accounting software excel, word andoutlook.

Able to exercise sound judgment and discretion in managingpatient and employee issues.

Requirements:
EDUCATION

ANDEXPERIENCEGraduation from an accredited medical school with adegree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy. Must be BoardEligible/Certified.

Minimum of five years of experience in practiceof medicine with progressive administrativeresponsibilities.

Licensure& Privileges:

Must possess current, validunrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of SC.Musthave current, valid unrestricted DEA registration. Must be able tobe continuously insurable by FHCNs professional malpracticecarriers at reasonable rates. Must be able to participate in andmaintain eligibility to receive reimbursement for services fromboth public and private health care insurers as required by FHCN.byJobble
