Starting Pay:

$83,824 – $100,000 per year. Based on 4 12-hourshifts per week (48 hours) @ $31.00-$37.01/hour. Rate at hire basedon prior EMS, Paramedic and SCT/CC experience.• PLUS $10,000.00Paramedic Sign-on/Retention Bonus & an extra $2.00 per hour forweekend shifts (Friday night through Monday morning).Summary/Objective Employees in this job role serve asrepresentatives for the company in a variety of roles andsituations. Under general or administrative supervision, and actingindependently, with other counterparts in the same role, theEmployee uses general methods and procedures customary to theperformance of the job to select the proper course of action in agiven situation to perform the general functions of their job.

During the shift, the Employee carries out general jobfunctions/duties and serves as a model employee and keysurveillance point for nascent issues that may affect operationsand employee safety. This work requires knowledge of the policies,procedures, and regulations that affect the company’s operations.

These policies and procedures may exist in the form of formalwritten guidance or through reasonable familiarity with the commonpractice that exists in a particular operational area. Arrive punctually, fit, and ready for work void ofissues related to inadequate rest, current illness, injury, orimpairment by any medication or other substance. Must be capable ofutilizing all EMT-B and AEMT intermediate skills and equipment.

Must be able to perform under Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)and Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) standards. Must beknowledgeable and competent in the use of a cardiacmonitor/defibrillator and intravenous drugs and fluids. Must becapable of functioning as an emergency vehicle driver. Must possessvalid drivers license and a clean driving record. Responds to callswhen dispatched and may drive ambulance to emergency site usingmost expeditious route permitted by weather and road conditions.

Assesses the safety of the scene, gains access to the patient,assesses extent of injury or illness. Communicates with dispatcherrequesting additional assistance or services as necessary. Assessesand monitors vital signs and general appearance of patient forchange. Assists with lifting, carrying, and properly loadingpatient into the ambulance. Reports verbally and in writingobservations of the patient’s emergency and care provided. Accountfor and inspect vehicle, equipment, and supplies. Resolve anyvehicle, equipment, and supplies issues, within their capability.

Representative Duties In addition to the essential functions of therole, the following are provided as representative duties performedby the Medical Technician. Relay operational issues regarding theircrew, vehicle, equipment, and supplies to the Shift Leader. Receivecomplaints from other agencies, facility staff, patients, families,and others affected by the company’s EMS operations, andimmediately notify the on-duty Shift Leader.

Requirements:

Qualifications Must have and maintain

NYS AEMT-P

certification.

Must have flexible availability on nights and weekends. Mustpossess and maintain Class “D” New York State Driver License orhigher or analogous equivalent from another jurisdiction withoutrecord of suspension or revocation in any State. Must be deemedinsurance. General knowledge of company operational policies. Mustbe at least 18 years of age prior to the last day of the month inwhich scheduled to take written certification exam. Ability tocommunicate effectively via telephone and radio equipment. Abilityto lift, carry and balance up to 125 pounds (250 pounds withassistance) Ability to interpret oral, written, and diagnostic forminstructions. Ability to interview patients, patient family membersand bystanders. Ability to document, in writing, all relevantinformation in prescribed format in light of legal ramifications ofsuch. Ability to work with other providers to make appropriatepatient care decisions. Minimum Qualifications Must currently becertified by the New York State Department of Health, Bureau ofEmergency Medical Services as an AEMT-Paramedic. Must be capable ofutilizing EMT-B and AEMT intermediate skills and equipment Must beable to perform under Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) andBasic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) standards. Must be knowledgeableand competent in the use of a cardiac monitor/defibrillator andintravenous drugs and fluids. The EMT-Paramedic has reached thehighest level of pre-hospital care certification.
