Description Summary:

The Paramedic Emergency Medical Services isresponsible for administering appropriate emergency medicaltreatment to people who have been injured in accidents or haveother medical conditions. Must be able to operate an advanced lifesupport ambulance to administer care. Routinely assist with theinspection of the ambulance and related equipment to ensure properoperation and sanitary cleanliness.

Responsibilities:

• Respond tothe site of life-threatening situations, emergency medicalsituations and non-emergency calls.
• Coordinate responseactivities with physicians to develop a plan of care based upon theassessment of the patient.
• Lead a team of responders bycoordinating activities to conduct triage, develop treatment plans,administer medical care and prepare patient for transport tomedical facility.
• Insure the proper functioning of all emergencymedical equipment and vehicles through regular checks; insureadequate inventory supply is maintained aboard emergency vehiclesthrough regular checks.
• Assist in the cleaning of stationlocations.
• Interact with firefighters, law enforcement and othernon-medical personnel at emergency scenes.
• Perform relatedadministrative tasks; completes necessary State and localpaperwork; prepare detailed documentation of patient care.
• Handlehazardous materials and ensure appropriate disposal in hazardousmaterials. Ensure compliance to all OSHA regulations for InfectionControl, Hazardous Materials Standards, and all job related duties.
• Respond to multiple casualty incidents and disasters and provideappropriate medical oversight, triage, care, and transport incoordination with other responders.
• Participate in periodicin-service training or as needed basis for any certified andnon-certified updates relating to Emergency Medical Services andfederal, State, and local EMT-P requirements.
• Operate and utilizean ambulance and related medical care response equipment and toolsneeded in response situations.
• Make decisions that conform to thenorms, policies, and values of Champion EMS and adhere to federal,state, and local compliance and policy requirements.
• Other dutiesas assigned.
