This role acts as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and administrative teams to coordinate care, resolve issues, and facilitate an overall positive healthcare experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Care Coordination:
Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure that patient care is efficiently coordinated. Assist in scheduling follow-up appointments, tests, or treatments as needed. Communicate any updates or changes in a patient’s care plan to both the patient and relevant healthcare team members. Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in handling patient data.
Patient Education & Support:
Provide patients with clear instructions regarding medical procedures, treatments, or prescriptions as needed. Answer patient inquiries about medical services, insurance, billing, and available resources. Offer emotional support and reassurance to patients during stressful or uncertain times. Relay any relevant concerns or updates regarding the patient’s condition to the appropriate healthcare providers.
Crisis & Issue Resolution:
Handle any immediate patient concerns or complaints in a professional, empathetic manner. Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues related to patient dissatisfaction. Help ensure that all necessary medical equipment, supplies, and resources are available and ready for patient care.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards. Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
Physical Requirements:
