Patient Care Liaison:
The purpose of the Patient Care Liaison is to be the point of contact person for the program. This individual will oversee a nation-wide territory, managing inpatient accounts. This role will communicate with healthcare providers and the external field support team. The Patient Care Liaison will support the healthcare providers by addressing questions regarding coding and billing, as well as complex reimbursement issues. This position also handles any rejected claims, navigating the appeals process to access medications. Single point of contact for an assigned territory, providing proactive case management follow-through and facilitating all outreach communications. Clearly communicates statuses of all patient support activities while also handling questions and inquiries from prescribers, patients, and field resources. Analyze and appropriately diagnose rejected claim problems, leveraging strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, modifiers and ICD-10 codes. Contact insurance companies to understand next steps available to obtain payment. Review documentation to understand incorrect information obtained or documented from insurance companies during the benefit investigation process. Handle prescriber and field escalations.
