Patient Navigator 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars 16 North Chestnut Street, Augusta, ME 04330 Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care is your local pharmacy and home medical equipment provider dedicated to making better living possible. We offer an array of services that extend far beyond those of a traditional retail pharmacy and have been serving residents throughout the state of Maine for over 20 years. You can look to us for: CPAP/BIPAP, respiratory therapy, durable medical equipment and supplies, and home infusion therapy. This is a full-time position based in Augusta.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a professional and courteous individual to join our team as a Patient Navigator. In this role, you will be the essential link between patients, healthcare providers, and internal departments, ensuring seamless communication and exceptional service. Additionally, you will handle a variety of administrative tasks, including sorting and distributing mail and faxes, as well as performing accurate data entry.
Responsibilities Include:
Operate a multi-line switchboard to route incoming calls to appropriate departments or people. Greet callers warmly, listen to assess their needs, and help them navigate to the correct person or department accordingly. Handle high call volumes with professionalism and efficiency. Maintain a call record log and escalate urgent issues to the appropriate team. Provide basic information about DME products, services, and order status. Assist with administrative tasks such as message taking, appointment scheduling, and data entry. Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and company policies to protect patient confidentiality.
Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent. Ability to navigate EMR software to review patient information and potentially identify incorrect data. Efficient problem-solving skills. Experienced in customer service Previous experience in a healthcare or DME environment preferred. Proficiency in using phone systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, EMR systems). Strong verbal communication and active listening skills. Ability to multitask and remain composed under pressure. Knowledge of medical terminology and durable medical equipment is a plus. This position pays between $18/hr-$21/hr depending on experience.
