Job Description

Description The Patient Liaison is responsible coordinating and navigating care for patients coming through our International Services to Mount Sinai Health System for treatment. The Patient Liaison will facilitate client communication with hospital, clinical, and administrative staff. Responsibilities

  • Plans, refers, and coordinates medical services for International Services patients accessing the Mount Sinai Health System.
  • Greets Executive Services either in person or via telephone, and updates their demographics in the department management system.
  • Cultivates and maintains professional customer service relationships within the health system.
  • Verifies visit details with the patient or family prior to arrival or, at minimum, at time of arrival before visit.
  • Navigates patient and family members to and from appointments
  • Communicates all required detail to appropriate parties regarding patient’s arrival, and ensures that the medical record is available for the physician.
  • Processes HIPAA-related paperwork and other institutional forms as required, maintaining a high degree of accuracy and appropriate filing
  • Performs customer satisfaction rounding with patients when admitted.
  • Schedule patient follow-up appointment(s) as needed. Provides patient with guidelines for requesting medical records and other paperwork
  • Performs basic charge entry tasks.
  • Answers phones for department and coordinates inquires with appropriate team members or departments.
  • Follows all HIPAA and any other governmental or state agency requirements regarding the appropriate handling of PHI documents.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Director or supervisor Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred.

At least 2 years’ experience, preferably in a health care facility/physician practice environment Fluent in Spanish and or Arabic language. Excellent customer service, Multi-tasker, with outstanding written, phone and email etiquette. A team player who works well under pressure in a high energy dept. Compensation Statement The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64,526.72 – $81,675.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
