The Patient Reception Specialist are responsible for providing patient support and communication, facilitating an exceptional patient experience to build and reinforce satisfaction and trust, and drive organizational loyalty. Accountable for welcoming and preparing the patient for their visit, the Patient Reception Specialist informs patients of relevant and required information for their visit and provides clear communication around the services.
Core Responsibilities:
Greets and checks in all patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner Answers phone calls and handles patient inquiries in a professional manner Performs demographic and insurance validation, and informs patient of privacy policies and procedures and obtains copies of all required documents and appropriately saves them in practice EMR Collects patient co-payments, reconciliation charges and outstanding balances upon Check-In Assists with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow Effectively communicates expected wait times to patients and assists with patient comfort should delays arise Keeps the reception and patient waiting areas clean and organized Performs additional ad hoc duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice Location flexibility to work across three urgent care sites as needed Skills for success as a

Qualifications and Experience:
Adept in medical terminology and insurance practices. Proficient in use of computer programs and applications including Outlook applications and practice EMR systems. Competent in basic arithmetic to make calculations, balance and reconcile figures, and make changes accurately. Current BLS certification for healthcare providers preferred High School Diploma/Equivalency required Experience in a medical office preferred Customer Service experience preferred
