$48,204•$72,468 annually ($4,017•$6,039 monthly) About the Position Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute (MTMHI) is currently hiring a Patient Rights Advocate to support the well-being and autonomy of our patients through advocacy, education, and oversight of patient rights. This role is vital in ensuring our facility complies with patient rights laws, regulations, and ethical standards, while serving as a trusted resource and voice for patients within the hospital.
Job Duties Include:
Interpreting and explaining Psychotropic Medication Rules and patient rights policies Conducting investigations into patient complaints and rights concerns Assessing compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and Department of Mental Health standards Coordinating Treatment Review Committee meetings and documenting outcomes Maintaining detailed records of complaints, patient rights reviews, and compliance data Training hospital staff on patient rights and ethical care practices Assisting patients with rights education, accessing personal items, and voting registration Providing consultative input from a rights-based perspective on treatment plans and ethics
Minimum Qualifications:
Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in a social or behavioral science or related field Two (2) years of full-time experience working directly with patients in a mental health setting Option 2: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Two (2) years of full-time experience working directly with patients in a mental health setting
Substitution:
