  • Job Summary and Qualifications
  • The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) participates in high-quality, patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring for high risk patients. In collaboration with the patient care team, the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm. The PSA may also assist with basic activities of daily living.
  • What you will do in this role:
  • + •You will stay with the patient at all times during assigned duty being relieved for breaks and meals.
  • + •You will prepare meal trays; clear bedside table, remove cover from food, open containers.
  • + •You will reorient the patient as appropriate; time, place, person.
  • + •You will straighten bed, change bed linens when patient is out of bed.

Straighten up patient’s room and care for flowers.

  • + •You will provide the patient fluids and ice, as permitted.
  • + •You will accompany patient off the unit as needed.
  • + •You will read and converse with the patient.
  • What qualifications you may need:
  • + •High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • + •Preferred year of experience in healthcare.
