The Diagnostic Services Assistant prepares and transports patients to and from imaging departments; selects appropriate equipment and notifies all relevant personnel of patient status, special needs, or instructions.

Responsibilities:

Assists health professionals as appropriate to assigned work area. Ensures that medical equipment necessary for patient transport is clean, functional, and operational. Reports any equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Helps maintain a clean and safe work environment. Transports patients (whose conditions range from stable to highly complex with special equipment needs) to other nursing units, to diagnostic and treatment areas.

Note:

Position requires every other weekend, Saturdays and Sundays 7 am-7pm, with the possibility of additional hours as needed.

Qualifications:

High School graduate. North Carolina Nursing Assistant Level 1 certification required. Maintain certification in BLS.
