Non-Exempt When you join the growing BILH team, you’re not just taking a job,you’re making a difference in people’s lives. Under general supervision, transports patients to and from theRadiology Department while maintaining patient safety anddignity.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limitedto:

  • Transfers patients to and from the nursing floors to the varioussections of the Radiology department in a courteous, timely, andsafe manner, following appropriate standards for patienttransport.
  • Ensures that patients are placed safely in wheelchairs and onstretchers.
  • Transports patients according to the “Hospital Travel Ticket”asking for clarification from unit if necessary.
  • Establishes appropriate and effective communication with patientsand/or family members in order to maintain patient comfort andsafety.
  • Transfers care of patients to the appropriate Radiology personnelby entering each patient’s name in the appropriate logbook andspeaking directly to a member of the receiving modality.
  • Follows Lahey policy on Correct Patient Identification using twopatient identifiers. Verifies by matching information on eachpatient’s name band.
  • Informs the nursing station when each patient leaves the floorand is brought back.
  • Ensures that wheelchairs, stretchers and O2 tanks are properlycleaned and ready for use on a daily basis. Reports problems withequipment to the appropriate supervisory personnel in a timelymanner.
  • Follows the proper procedure during emergency codes, i.e. Code 99& Code Red and during emergencies within the RadiologyDepartment.
  • Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles , Mission Statementand Goals into daily activities.
  • Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.
  • Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and LaheyClinic.
  • Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleaguesand patients.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performanceexpectations, and competency assessment.
  • Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needsof our customers and consistently adheres to Customer Servicestandards.
  • Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental qualityimprovement activities.
  • Participates in and successfully completes MandatoryEducation.
  • Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needsof the department.

Experience:
