Schedule:
Temporary position – Schedule will be as needed between the hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm to include weekends.
Job Summary:
Transports patients and materials throughout the hospital. May perform other activities related to transportation of patients as assigned and will respond to code situations within the facility. Performs duties outlined in the appraisal program according to established standards. Must be able to lift and pull, as well as walk during entire shift of duty.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High school graduate or GED, or currently enrolled in High School and must be at least 16 years old.
Experience:
Hospital experience preferred, but not necessary.
Licensure/Certification:
Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. Primary Source Verification (if applicable):
N/A Knowledge/Skills:
Must become proficient in handling all types of transports within ninety (90) days. This includes transports such as total hips, knees, and handling stretchers alone. Requires the ability to communicate and work well with all levels of patients, the public, as well as other health care professionals.

Professional and neat appearance is required to project a positive image of Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Must maintain strict confidentiality of all work-related information.
Contacts:
Constant interactions with patients, nursing staff, support staff, and occasional contact with physicians, family members and management.
Work Demands/Environment:
Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping. Frequent lifting/moving patients. Intermittent lifting, moving, or carrying up to 50 lbs. Frequent pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of finger/ hand dexterity. Constant reaching with hands/arms. Frequent talking or hearing. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Exposure to blood, body fluids or tissue. Possible exposure to infectious materials, communicable diseases and/or other conditions common to a healthcare environment. Intermittent exposure to risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Moderate noise level in work area. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours.
