4K a year 9 hours ago Qualifications BLS Certification Suturing Entry level Full Job Description A Brief Overview Under the supervision of a Physician/Registered Nurse, they perform various activities to assist in the care of patients according to established policies and procedures in an assigned patient care unit (Trauma Center, Emergency Room, Newborn Center, Labor and Delivery, Medical Services, etc.). What you will do Provides care to patients by performing various activities in an assigned patient care unit under professional nursing or medical supervision.

  • Performs duties in compliance with instructions, written orders and established policies and procedures to include wound dressing, suturing wounds and suture removal.
  • Observes, records and reports/documents patient responses to treatment.
  • Transports patient in a safe and timely manner.
  • Performs skills including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age-specific patient needs.

Assists in the admission of patients. Interacts and communicates in a customer-responsive and courteous manner. Works collaboratively with hospital/medical staff and patients and their families to coordinate activities and communicate information. Maintains confidentiality in matters relating to patient/family, department and hospital information. Adheres to established department and organization policies (i.e. HIPAA, Confidentiality, and Compliance Policies). Transports lab specimens, patients and/or equipment to and from various areas of the hospital. Responds appropriately to emergency situations. Initiates and/or assists with emergency/basic life support procedures as required. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and utilizes supplies in a cost-effective manner.

  • Assists with cleaning, restocking and preparation of patient care and supply areas/rooms (includes supplies, equipment, beds).
  • Reports malfunction of equipment to supervisor.

Maintains a clean, orderly, safe environment. Adheres to established policies, compliance/quality improvement, and patient safety, environment and infection control standards.
