The employee develops, demonstrates and implements course instruction. The instructor provides verbal instructions and assists class participants with routines. The employee exercises safety precautions and adheres to safety practices and protocol. This job is considered safety-sensitive is subject to a pre-employment background check and random drug screens. Fitness Instructors are paid $25.00 per class.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Instruction. Develops, demonstrates and implements fitness routines to ensure exercise is completed safely and in accordance with City, fitness and safety practices, protocol and procedures.
Acts as a point of reference and resource regarding instruction and fitness activities.
Maintains cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications. Develops and choreographs fitness routines.
Develops class curriculum.
Implements class curriculum.
Performs assessment of class curriculum goals and objectives.
Evaluates and monitors class participants while performing routines to ensure safe and accurate execution.
Monitors and assesses class participants’ physical cues to ensure safety.
Compiles playlists to coincide with routines.
Provides verbal instructions and explanation to participants.
Demonstrates routines and physical execution for participants.
Assists class participants with fitness routines.
Encourages group socialization with class participants.
Adheres to all established safety practices and protocol.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTION
Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
